Missing Pane
This was shot from a missing pane in the Gothic flyover of Dublin's medieval Christ Church. The flyover connects the church to another building (the one with the medieval /Viking Dublin museum in it).
I had been walking past (like the man in the photo), maybe 16 years ago, when I noticed the missing pane from the street and wondered what it might be like to get up there and take a photograph through it. Eventually, some time later, I entered the church and located the window without any trouble. I think the window is fixed now.
The photo won the Jury Prize in the Open House Photography Competition run by the Irish Architecture Foundation last year.
