But will it come back?

We found this old boomerang in my parents' garden at the weekend. Unclaimed and battered having spent the winter outside, it needed some t.l.c. (lots of glue) to fix the delamination. No. 1 son is fascinated and had to be told not to throw it in the garden.
"Will it come back when I throw it?"

"If it came back it wouldn't be here in the first place!"

Glue should hold it for now so we'll find a big open space at the weekend.
