You're so vein...

I attended a venepuncture course today and it was very fulfilling. The prospect of being able to take blood is rather exciting - the prospect of actually doing it right is terrifying.

We were given our own disposable tourniquet's for practicing on family and friends. (That's practicing feeling for and finding veins - not actually taking the blood lol.)

I love learning new things within my profession, and lord do we know nursing is a constant learning curve! I've only been qualified for just over 1 year so have a long way to go yet.

But, so far so good :-)
