Colinton Station

Recently I was looking at some photos of Colinton Station as it was in Victorian times and was bemused to see this old looking sign recording the station's opening in 1981 on my cycle home this evening. Could this have been the re-opening of the station as a point of interest on the old railway path along the Water of Leith?
