Waiting for a vacant space on the feeder.

It's been a really lovely day today and quite warm, so in celebration we've made a start on some of the gardening jobs that have been so neglected. Ann cut back the creepers and pruned roses at the front and I redid some of the large pots at the back and cut back straggling growth along the wall. Unfortunately our activity had an impact on bird feeding time, so once we were back inside a feeding frenzy commenced. The goldfinches were in a particularly aggressive and challenging mode so I sat on the front doorstep and watched the blue-tits feeding instead. It's also a good place for house sparrows, greenfinches and starlings and the occasional great tit.
