Electric window problem!

Got back in my car after going shopping to find driver side window half open. Very suspicious! Tried to close it but the motor just whirred, so made the mistake of opening it to try and free it, of course you can guess......it just fully opened and that was it. So spent two hours at the garage. The wire had snapped inside and wrapped itself around a cog and jammed. The garage man has temporarily wedged it shut with a.....bit of wood! But the car will have to go back in tomorrow for a day and a half! Oh dear. I will have to borrow back my husband's car which a friend has been using whilst my husband is still recovering from his eye op last August. Oh well it could have been worse. It could have happened in the summer and we would have sweltered or it could have been raining! Instead it was beautiful weather and quite pleasant to have the window open.
