(Water) skiing trip to island

I skied to the island of Pikku-Telkko. It was dark already as I left 6:30 p.m. I ad a head lamp to light the way. Due to temperatures above zero lately the snow on the ice had melted almost completely. In the middle of the lake was a very large area where there was 10-20 cm of water on ice. I was planning to turn back since I wasnn't sure if the ice was still strong enough. But then I saw a car driving along the ice road about 50metres from where I was.

In the island I made bonfire, heated some sausages and drank some Thor bock, made by Suomenlinna brewery. There was just enough somewhat dry logs for me, but the ones in firewood shelter were a bit wet. I had a small (yet a bit damaged) axe and I chopped some logs and dried them by the fire. So the next visitor will also be able to make a fire.

My shoes got wet on the way, but since it was a few grades above freezing my feet didn't get too cold during my stay in the island (approximately one hour).
