Brimpsfield churchyard

I love walking up to the church of my childhood, both of my parents ashes are buried here along with the remains of other relations. When walking around the church yard a feeling of well being and calmness is present. As Catholics it wasn't our local church but we attended services when at school, in the guides, family weddings and of course funerals. I have a regret I couldn't marry John here, it wasn't allowed or even considered in those days, I don't know about now.

We have covered a few corners of Gloucestershire this weekend and caught up with my immediate family and their offspring. Most enjoyable. Also this morning after visiting the churchyard we met a lady who has lived in the village since the early fifties and a close friend of mum and dad. We haven't seen each other for 40 years, a wonderful hour of chat. And then on to visit my aunt and uncle, a very special couple, who have amazing recall on family matters.

I feel all talked out.
