Wet and Naked Lady
Isn't it amazing that a living thing "chooses" to flower now - in the midst of November! There's almost no light, no buzzing insects, no cheerfulness...well almost none!
Anyway - here she is: Colchicum or The Naked Lady - so called because of the lack of leaves when the flower appears. The leaves are developing in the spring, which makes a lot of sense, because their purpose is to catch energy to deliver to the subterranean corms.
BIG Lady!
A few more ant steps were taken in the wee allotment house: The living room floor and the kitchen floor had their second (and last) coats of colour today. Z was applying putty on the living room walls.
Still raining today, but not as windy as yesterday.
