Shoe shops closing in St Peter Port

Barratts shoe shop is empty and closed and In-Step, to the left of Land of Green Ginger looks like it is closing down too. Not that I bought shoes in either, as they only stocked shoes for dainty feet, sadly too small for my size 9s.
As I took out plate of food for the guineas tea just now, I confronted a beady eyed bird of prey (hawk?) on my lawn, its claws dug into a magpie! It soon flew off with magpie, leaving just a feather or two.
