Tête-à-têtes

It was warm and dry outside once the rain stopped and I sat quietly with my coffee and watched the birds hungrily feeding. I proceeded to try to get close-up action pictures of a nuthatch which was visiting the feeders every few minutes, well at least until I brought out my camera.

I enjoyed myself and my coffee but didn't get any decent shots despite the sun starting to shine and provide brighter conditions for high speed photography. When it did I couldn't resist the brilliant colour of this small bunch of tête-à-têtes which we bought last week. They are only a few inches high, but they pack a punch.
