Orangutans, Monkeys, and Sun Bears, Oh My!

My adventure this weekend was to Samboja. After a quick flight to Balikpapan and an hour drive, we arrived at Samboja Lodge, an ecolodge on the island of Kalimantan (the Malaysian side is called Borneo).

Our weekend was filled with sights and sounds of orangutans, sun bears, proboscis monkeys. We ate like kings (being 2 of 4 tourists staying at the Lodge), and enjoyed the company of our tour operator, Ozzy.

It was an excellent trip, to reconnect with nature, visit some awesome animals, and support the conservation efforts of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. It was an awesome weekend!
