Antibes Day 6. A Bit of Culture

The morning was dull and overcast again, and the clouds looked much more threatening than yesterday, but things improved as the day went on, and it was actually quite pleasant.

We read a bit more through our research and decided to visit the Picasso Museum. As with most things here, the Museum was closed between 12.00 and 2.00, so we explored a bit more of the Old Town before going there. The top floor is devoted to the Picasso collection, which comes from the time he spent in Antibes. Some of the work was good, and the views from the windows are wonderful. There's also a terrace where sculptural pieces are displayed, and by the time we got out there the weather was fine once again, with just a few dramatic clouds in the distance. All in all, an enjoyable experience, and we're glad we did it.

We'd noticed what looked like a promising restaurant and decided to give it a try tonight. It seemed to promise genuine, traditional local cuisine, and perhaps that's what it was. Unfortunately, it was inedible (my breaded veal was burnt to a frazzle, and the replacement wasn't much better. They also somehow managed to burn Carl's omelette. A huge disappointment, and we made quite a fuss.
