Oklahoma Arrowhead
While snooping around in Moms things this evening I found the box with other treasures. I'd been looking for a creative item one of my many cousins carved into leather when he was a young boy.
Instead I found Moms keepsake box from a pen pal friend she and her twin sister had when they were teenagers on the farm in Oklahoma.
The Deary Family has a lot of history that needs to be put in book form but to this day has not been penned
One of our Moms treats to tell us is about the pen pal that sent her this box and how she found an arrowhead going to Mr.Cliffs to get sugar for Grandma to make a cake.
She asked her Mom if she should sale it but Grandma told her to keep it.
Being 14 at the time she was thrilled to add it to her keepsake box. So every now and again when we come across it we ask about the arrow.
I often wonder what it was used for and how long it had laid there unfound.
At the time they were on 40 acres of land and Mr. Cliff owed another large bit next to the Deary Family.
It is my hope that one day someone puts the life of M and her 13 children in book form.
As it is always a good listen when we hear the stories of life on a farm.
