AOG Closing Ceremonies and Swan Lake
More feathers in large.
Wow! The festivities for the final day of the Alternative Olympic Games were spectacular! Parades, performances, fireworks... you name it and it went on! My favorite celebration was by Team Swan performing, what else but, Swan Lake.
The lake was lit from below with the 5 Olympic rings and the graceful birds performed in formations that were perfectly synchronised, with each ballerina swan playing their part beautifully. (Here you see Princess Odette winning hearts in the foreground.) They had everyone, from every country and species on their feet applauding! Once the ballet was complete, the team picked up their flag and joined the other teams in the final march through the stadium waving to their fans and enjoying the camaraderie between all the athletes.
Later, I caught up with Sylvia (Princess Odette) and asked her about her experience as a 2014 AOG Athlete. She told me that her time here was full of incredible memories, but she was really ready for some warmer conditions! This reporter has to agree!!
It's been fun reporting on the events and antics of the 2014 Alternative Olympic Games! (Thank you Debbi, for coming up with this fun challenge!) This has been BetsysPics, signing off one last time from the AOG...
