Great Crested Grebe

Having been really busy all day, working in the Hospital Shop all morning, then out delivering the Parish newsletters in the afternoon I wondered when and where I was going to get my Blip for today. It was such a windy and overcast afternoon, so I was not too hopeful! I took a quick stroll up to the footbridge in search of an EB. I was about to come home having tried (unsuccessfully) to catch terns in flight,when I spotted this comical bird! I followed him for about half a kilometre as he ducked and dived. I was amazed at how long he stayed under the water, each time coming up a long way from where he went under. There is another image of him Here, taken just as he surfaced.
