Kendal Castle

Dull, grey and wet for most of the day. We had a good lie in and then went with Chris and Nicky to a wedding fair in Kendal to get some ideas for their wedding next year. Very good event and we got to sample some lovely wedding cakes which was a bonus. Yum!

Kendal Castle was built in the early 1200′s as the home of the barons of Kendal. They had a big influence on the development of Kendal. The Parr family is the best known of the baronial families, the most famous member being Katherine Parr, the sixth and last Queen of Henry VIII.

Back home, fire on, curled up for a snug evening.
