HSBC bank in our town centre

This building is over 100 years old. As per the website of the Local History Research Group, this was a telephone exchange, then a post office and in c1950, it was the building of the London, City and Midland Bank. It is now the HSBC bank.

You will notice in the link that it just looks the same as it looked in c1950. This is the only building in the town centre that has been able to maintain its facade even when the business it has housed has changed over the years. The other buildings in the town centre have evolved as new businesses have renovated the premises to suit their needs.
