Mt. Woodson panorama

Decided to blow away the cobwebs and get the baby out and about this morning. Drove up to lake poway and attempted mt Woodson. I've climbed it before from the service road at the back of the mountain. There are tons of radio antenna ontop which spoils the summit but the walk from lake poway has good views across the whole of San Diego.

It's a very popular route and the car park was full so had to park another half mile away on residential streets making the trip about 10 miles in all there and back. Something must have happened up there a little earlier as there were loads of fire engines and paramedics around and a helicopter airlifting someone to hospital.

Just down from the summit there is an outcrop of rock called potato chip rock. It's a favorite place to have your photo taken and today was no exception with a line of over 30 people waiting. Someone even got proposed to on there.

Babe did well, a little tired on the way up. It was warm but there were whispy clouds taking the worst of the sunshine away. We completed the walk in around 3 hours. Came home and showered together and then she got a long overdue haircut. Both babe and I then had a doze on the sofa......
