Candy Crush

For years it was Freecell that was my obsession. Like millions of other people I wasted hours on it. And now I am really pretty good: it is rare not to solve it at the first go.

But Candy Crush came on the scene. Not always do-able. But totally compelling. So now I waste time on it, on my wee ipod. But I was amazed to get a Facebook announcement intimating that friends, named friends in the USA and in Pakistan (as well as other places closer to home), were also addicted and suggesting that I too should try the game. I will not get involved in letting the Facebook world see how I am doing at Candy Crush. But I am working my way steadily through the different quests - in private.

How can an otherwise intelligent sensible adult find such a game so compulsive? But many of my adult/sensible friends are just as hooked on the game as me!
