'We are what we do.'

I am the luckiest...

Today has/is just one of those days when you realise just how wonderful life is. The day started with a much appreciated stunning sunrise, a morning dog walk and my favourite breakfast. Last week's calf strain has meant that running hasn't really been an option this week however I was determined to not let that stop me putting in the miles today in one form or another. So armed with calf compression sleeve, back pack and two dogs I made my way to Dartington. Here you can find the Totnes to South Brent cycle route. So off we set. Gosh it was definitely a hilly route and this just made it exhilarating! I was able to witness close up aspects of our beautiful landscape usually only seen from the car window. I admired views over farmland leading to the moors, walked through deserted country lanes and felt a contentment with my two dogs by my side. Even when the going got tough and I thought the calf wouldn't make it I just kept on going and smiling, encouraging the dogs (and myself) to rise to the challenge. My senses were alive with the promise of Spring all around me. From the hedgerows full of snowdrops, Primroses and Daffodil buds to the air full of bird song and that simple smell of freshness and promise. Home, lunch, bath and a chill on the sofa with a fast becoming favourite film has led me to writing my blip before getting ready to spend the evening in an equally delightful way. Happy weekend all!
