Eagle eyed

It was a tough choice today as we had the pleasure of handling lots of different (and very impressive) birds including a Harris Hawk, a melonistic (not sure that's spelt correctly!) barn owl, a burrowing owl, an American kestrel (very cute!) and this bloody massive Golden Eagle.. She weighed a ton! Not literally, but 9lb 7oz!

Rosliston Forestry Centre is a lovely place in Derbyshire and the falconer was great at his job, really knew his stuff. Would recommend it if you fancy getting up close and personal with the feathered ones
