Tree Kingfisher!

A long overdue visit to Calderglen Country Park today and many improvements have been put in place since my last visit. Wire mesh is a hindrance to photographing birds but I did my best! This cute, fluffy kookaburra just sat on his branch and posed .... or as the guide song says-

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree,
Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be!
