View from the Burke-Gilman Trail
2/21/2014 ~ View from the Burke-Gilman Trail at Corliss Ave N and N Northlake Way, North Lake Union, Wallingford Neighborhood, Seattle, WA.
From beautiful sunshine the last two days, which I slept through most of day having worked a couple of night shifts this week, we have now moved back into a period of overcast and rain.
In the view you see the Tugboat Triton featured in yesterday's blip, the Ship Canal Bridge (with all the traffic) and Triton featured on the January 28th blip, the University Draw Bridge, and a vast array of colorful buildings which a large portion are University of Washington dormitories and campus building further back.
The Burke-Gilman Sammamish Trail is a rail trail in King County, Washington. The 42-mile (67.59 km) multi-use recreational trail is part of the King County Regional Trail System and occupies an abandoned Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway corridor. The trail begins at 11th Avenue NW in Ballard and follows along the Lake Washington Ship Canal and north along Lake Washington. At Blyth Park in Bothell the trail becomes the Sammamish River Trail and continues to Marymoor Park, Redmond, on Lake Sammamish. The trail network continues to the city of Issaquah via the East Lake Sammamish Trail. The trail is use by many people for walking, running, biking, roller blading, skate boarding and other means for recreational and commuting purposes.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
