Winging it

Last night on Coronation Chicken Street:

1. Babe of the barn Gloria (bottom left) was not in her usual sleeping place...
2. Big Daddy Snowy (far right) was all blood and mud as were his nameless sons (top left.)
3. And hey! Where did this cocky young dude (top centre) roll up from? He doesn't belong round here.
4. The hens (bottom centre) were all of a flutter.

This morning: Gloria turned up right as rain (I don't know whose perch she's been roosting on), Snowy and sons were very subdued all day and the Lone Ranger was collected by his owner from the farm next door.

So, what's the explanation? Dynastic in-fighting or cherchez la poule?
