Start Point Lighthouse revisited

The lighthouse has two bulbs within this cage of reflective plates. Only one is lit but, if it fails, immediately the plate automatically swivels round and the reserve bulb takes over. It saves ships from floundering on The Skerries, banks of rock, shingle and sand below the surface of the sea in Start Bay, South Devon.
