This morning, we received nature's bounty of 6 to 7 inches of snow, which is taller than these ground birds, California Quail. After digging a path up to the studio, the feeding area for the turkeys was cleared a bit so they could find the corn and sunflower seeds. After the turkey eat their fill, and sometimes during, these little quail with their curved top-knots come in to eat the corn. The turkeys look like dinosaurs next to these birds.
They always travel in pairs within the covey and these two make a perfect minor quotation mark with their top-knots... 'Insert quail words here'
