Flowerpower's journal

Curling, culture and cake

This morning my friend and I spent a good few hours watching the semi-final of the curling between Sweden and China. It is a very clever and technical game and I have decided that my new career direction should possibly be curling...it's so fun! (I have also considered archery. Sadly, I fear that I may be past my prime but it's worth a shot). We then visited this beautiful National Trust property - Dyrham Park - It is set in beautiful countryside and gentle rolling hills, which we decided would be excellent for sledging down. We then enjoyed some cake and a walk round the estate in pouring rain before returning to watch the men's final of the curling. A very disappointing result.

Before heading north, I popped into see my old uni friend and her family and enjoyed a little cake there too. Now I am about to go out and see my singing gang. No more cake will be consumed tonight.

I hope to catch up on your journals this weekend. Happy Friday everyone.
