Evolution

I'm saving for a new digital camera and doing a lot of research in what my final choice is going to be, a new Nikon D800 body, a Nikon D610 or this little Sony Alpha 7r.
It seems to beat every professional Canon or Nikon not only by size, weight and performance, but downside…. also beats it by price.

Anyway, doing my research I remembered buying my very first Nikon D1 in 1999 and was wondering when the very first digital camera was made.

It turns out to be this little portable monster made by Steve Sasson at Kodak in…. guess what…. 1975!!!!

From 1 megapixel to 36 in 39 years and a downsized body to the size of an old compact cassette ;-)
