Blood

I tried. I really did! Having registered online to donate blood before Christmas, last week I received an invite to donate for the first time. It's something I've long since intended to do but was always too scared and never got round to so I Psyched myself up today, filled I my forms and off I went to the local school hall.

I was met with a packed waiting room. Went to sign in and was greeted by a lovely male nurse who was very apologetic but informed me they were only running 9 beds where there would normally be 15 so 1.5 hours behind scheduled times and having to turn people away. I was offered an appointment for 21st July (!!) instead (and tea and biscuits).

I said I'd look into alternative locations and hope to find something sooner but couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed! It's taken me 16 years to get that close to actually doing it! Meh. Maybe next time ... Good to see so many people waiting though :) clearly more organised and experienced than I.
