Manchester Art Gallery...
Packed with wonderful art, Manchester Art Gallery is on Moseley Street. It's one of Manchester's few classical revival Victorian buildings. Liverpool went in for the style big time but the Manchester cotton magnates favoured a mixture of Gothic Revival and Italian Renaissance Palazzo for the city's grand buildings. This one was designed by Sir Charles Barry who mastered this style and then slipped into Gothic Revival for his most iconic building known around the world, the Houses of Parliament in London. If you haven't been to Manchester Art Gallery, it is well worth the visit, especially the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood pictures. I like the herringbone clouds in the sky in this picture...
