Hope

Whether you believe Spring starts on the 1st March, as seems to be the meteorological view or the traditional 21st March it is not very far away and there are lots of signs of it in the garden. Here the sun opening the crocus flowers and buds fattening on the daffodils around the village all bring us the hope of Spring and the better seasons to come.

Today in our village we have two funerals at two churches of men from different generations.

These things are a fact of life but when a young man, a contemporary of my own children, is taken it gives one pause to think.

We all need the hope of Spring.
