The Woods in Winter

Winter returned in full force today after 3 days of above 0˚C weather. Big fat flakes, good for snowball fights and snowman building. We are expecting 6 inches by tomorrow...

Meanwhile, the squirrels are out in force, and one of them has discovered a handy little niche on our balcony, just underneath the bird feeder. I keep seeing his little paws, creeping up the baluster as he's cautiously checking to see if I've gone away yet. Food, shelter, he probably thinks that he's woken up in heaven. Plans are afoot, Nutsy! You're going to have to go!

P.S. We will not hurt the squirrel. I just can't afford to keep him (or his friends).
