Sun, Snow and Sledging

Today was a day when everything lined up in a way you can't possibly plan or foresee. On a serious note, Nik's granny was rushed into hospital this morning. they quickly worked out that it was a problem with her heart which has been the cause of her recent ill health. This afternoon she had a pacemaker fitted under local anaesthetic (she is nearly 88) and is better already. She expects to get home in a day or 2 and be back at the legion in 6 weeks! As we couldn't do anything to help, we headed to the Cairngorms in search of some snow to sledge on and had a glorious afternoon with our good friends on the sunny nursery slopes which were deserted because the ski centre was closed due to high winds (which died down mid day). Totally unexpected but brilliant fun.
