Old A66

The old A66 where it crosses the River Eden at Temple Sowerby which is now bypassed. Before the bypass a continuous stream of traffic negotiated the bridge, bend, and village. Not all did so safely. The bridge was regularly hit by lorries, some of which ended up dangling over the river below.

Today it's peaceful. The quality of life must be so much better for the inhabitants.
