Freddie Gilroy. Sometimes I sits and cries...somet

Freddie had been a Regimental Police Officer with the British
7th Armoured Division which on 15th April 1945 took surrender
of the German concentration camp Bergen Belsen. One month later
he "celebrated " his 24th birthday in the camp. It was a day he would
remember and grieve the rest of his life. When interviewed by a
newspaper journalist in the 1980's he confessed he had sat and cried
on every birthday since that fateful day.
