Silver lane

N was awake half the night wondering whether we should have tubed the two sucklers with mastitis. T phoned the vet again this morning and he said we had done the right thing. Sometimes one can open up the whole system to infection but hopefully this will not happen. They were no worse this morning and their calves were weaned about a month ago. N can sleep soundly tonight!

We must now decide whether to buy some more young cattle: no cattle no business. The carrier will see what is for sale at the market. Sometimes buyers from Northumberland come down and pay ridiculous prices for animals so if they are there we wont be having any.

Finally managed to get out and do some gardening. Mostly pruning.
