Mountain Hare in Winter Coat
Working in Dundee today so took the opportunity to visit the McManus Art Gallery and Museum. Lots of stuff about the history of the Dundee jute trade and journalism, which is interesting, but my focus was on the photographic exhibition they are running at the moment. It is called "A Silvered Light" and focusses on silver bromide printing (most seem to be from the '70s and 80s) explore the different ways in which Scottish artists used the medium of photography in fine art. There were only about four women photographers in the exhibition. It was nice to be reminded of pre-digital times. We weren't allowed to take photographs in the exhibition, but I took some in the wild life bit of the museum. This mountain hare in his winter coat came out quite well. One of a wild cat was really the one I wanted to use - he is magnificent - but I couldn't get a shot without reflections of passersby or other things in the glass between him and me! Dull weather in Dundee with Scotch mist most of the day! Glad to get home!
