Three canal locks in Birmingham

This blip shows three canal locks in Birminham, you can just see the last one in the distance. I was on my way to the Jewellery Quarter to repair a ring when I spotted these canals almost hidden amongst the buildings.

While in the Jewellery Quarter I wandered in the Warstone Cemetry and found the War Stone - which is a large felsite boulder deposited in this area by a glacier during the Ice Age. It was at one time used as a parish boundary mark, and was known as the Hoar Stone of which the modern War stone is a corruption.

Its surprising what you can see and learn when you are really looking around you.
