Hidden worlds

This is Carlton Terrace Mews. It's a small courtyard of mews houses which is hidden from the world between Royal Terrace and Regent Terrace. I suspect very few know of its existence even among Edinburgh folk, and even fewer tourists discover its charm, despite being 10 minutes from Princes Street, Parliament and even less from Calton Hill where you get the best view over North Edinburgh.

I was a bit spoilt for choice in what to blip tonight, another possibility was a cherry in full bloom already at the top of Easter Road.

Tonight is awards night - 20 years ago I'd have been watching the Brits. Tonight though, I'm showing my age and will be watching the Radio 2 Folk Awards on the BBC red button, hosted by Mark Radcliffe and the amazing Scottish singer Julie Fowlis (who provided songs for Disney's Brave).
