The Flying Shuttle

This 'Flying Shuttle' sculpture is a fairly recent addition in Farrington, Leyland, Lancashire.

It has been placed in Farrington in recognition of the huge spinning and weaving mill built in Farrington in 1840 by William Bashall and Willam Boardman.
Farrington Mill continued to produce high quality cotton goods till the early 1970's.
