Citrus Orchard
For the past two years we have been sowing rootstock grafting, budding and caring for a wide variety of, improved variety, fruit trees, so today was a big day in that we began preparations for planting out.
Charles came early with his crew: they slashed all the growth, set out all the holes and began to dig cubic yard holes for every seedling. We intend to plant about 1500 fruit trees this year here, and on another newly purchased piece of land, about a mile away.
We will give the remaining seedlings to local people to enable then to improve diet and get a little income. We will also sell some to help defray some of our costs.
We are planting improved variety of lemon, orange, lime, tangerine, pawpaw, apple, avocado, guava, and mango.
