Twinkling Lights
After reading week last week, it was back into full swing at uni tonight with a lecture on depression and bi-polar. I also participated in an experiment beforehand for 6 credits towards the 40 I need to gain in my first year. It consisted of sitting in a very small room with my head on a chin rest identifying if a given letter was present on a screen of other letters. Not exactly compelling but an easy 6 credits for 20 minutes. I'm now one credit away from my target!
Started my next lab report on the train on the way home - it's of a replication of an experiment done by French and Richards in 1993 based on schematic driven memory. Have you ever noticed that watches with Roman numerals incorrectly displays the number IV as IIII? Many people don't and when shown a watch then asked to draw it back from memory, they will draw the watch with IV for the number 4 instead of IIII. Their schema affects what they actually see.
