Home again!
Unpacking from the Caribbean, always the downside to a holiday, I often find that those impulse purchases bought under a brilliant blue sky begin to loose their charm in the cold light of a British winter day.
Not so with this butterfly, which I bought from the Butterfly Farm on Saint Martin.
This unusual enterprise was started by two eccentric Englishmen, William Slayter (owner) and John Coward in 1994 and it has survived four hurricanes.
Meanwhile I spoke this afternoon to our 90-year-old neighbour about her miraculous escape from the fire in her home.
Despite her horrendous experience she seemed in good spirits.
She says she was sitting watching television at lunchtime when it suddenly burst into flames!
Friends have rallied around. Meanwhile for the next couple of weeks she will be in a care home.
