Taxi stand, Maltese style...
In the past, before the introduction of motorised vehicles, the horse-drawn cab - known locally as the karozzin - was the most common means of transport. Nowadays it is part of Malta's cultural heritage and used mainly by tourists for leisure rides. And as I understand, quite expensive, but a lovely way to see the city.
This morning there were at least ten lined up ready to take the passengers of a visiting cruise ship on excursions around the area.
