Happy Birthday Sunset for Kirsty

HERE celebrated her 18th birthday today. It was a funny kind of a day with lots of students balling their eyes out. It brought back memories of my own last day at school and, though it's as long ago as they've been alive, it didn't seem so long ago at all.

It got me thinking about change.

I used to hate it.

Now I embrace it and I try to make the most of it.

I can't remember when the switch happened.

Maybe when I moved 12,000 miles away from my family?

Maybe when I endured disappointment one time too many?

Maybe when I realised that change can be a good thing.

One door closes and another one opens.

Sometimes you just want to slam it shut again.

But you don't.

You stride through.

You get on with it.

You survive.

Good luck Kirsty. The world's a big and scary place, but it's worth exploring. Grab those opportunities with both hands. Be brave.
