Waiting For The Cherry Blossoms

This isn't a cherry tree, but something about the image feels like the Japanese water colors of cherry trees in blossom.

The town just pruned this tree a few weeks ago and I was happy they didn't tear down the bird nest which is waiting for it's summer resident to return.

(Playing with the ND filter today... it is only a 4x filter and just barely dark enough to make this picture with the lens wide open - even with mostly overcast skies. I took another picture of some daffodils down low and it was almost too dark. I just read about a variable ND filter on Steve Huff site that looks very interesting... Heliopan Variable ND)
