A Monarch to celebrate

Now what was I planning for my big blip?

Well, you can't plan for Mother Nature. But she was on my side this morning.

After a wild display of swan porn in Santa Catalina Park (but I just didn't dare for my big blip) I was teased by two lively Monarch butterflies.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought one would settle and pose. A bit bedraggled perhaps but still one of the most amazing and splendid creatures. Unlike the Mexican relatives, I don't think the Madeiran Monarchs go on any long journeys - why would they ? :-)

1500 - but not without a break, although I am still seriously addicted. Today feels really special. I've surprised myself and I'm still enthusiastic to continue. As you know, I love Blip and this amazing community. You've supported me through tough times and shared some marvellous experiences with me. You're great friends. Some I have met outside the Blip world. Others I hope to meet.

Thank you for all the encouragement and for teaching me so much about noticing the world around us - and capturing special moments. And thank you to Blip Central for creating this magic.
