Across the river

This is one of Canada's iconic "chateau" railway hotels. This is the Bessborough, named for Canada's 14th Governor General, the Earl of Bessborough. It was built from 1928 - 32 and finally opened for its first guest in 1935 as the devastation wrought by the great depression began to ease a little. Locals call it the Bess (pronounced Bez). The river is the South Saskatchewan.
