Alley Springs... Southern Missouri
Between 1870 to 1924, there was a small community called "Alley" set in the farmlands of Southern Missouri, U.S.A. Beside this flowing spring, Alley Springs, was a grain mill named Alley Roller Mill. This was the center of the area where people would come to hear the latest news and gossip, while waiting to have their grain ground. The town is gone now... all that is left is the mill. It has been taken over and maintained by the Missouri Conservation Administration.
My husband's family came from this area and we like to go back once in awhile. There are many other springs there, but I think this one is my favorite.
